Urgent & Same-Day Attestation Services in Dubai — Doorstep Pickup
How fast can you get documents attested in Dubai?
How fast depends on which route the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assigns your document. UAE-issued digital documents that carry a verification feature go through MOFA Digital Attestation and complete within two hours during official working hours. Everything else goes through the courier route, where the delivery pack you choose sets the turnaround — a normal pack of three working days or an express pack of one working day. You do not choose between the two routes; MOFA assigns it from the issuing authority and the document type. AttestPort collects from your door anywhere in Dubai, prepares the file so it is not rejected, follows it through the chain, and returns the attested document to you.
About Attestation Services Dubai
Most people searching for urgent attestation in Dubai want one question answered first — how fast, and what do I have to do myself. The honest answer is that speed is set by the route the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assigns your document rather than by any agent, and for one route it genuinely is same-day. AttestPort covers the part you can control: we collect from your home or office across the 64 Dubai communities we serve, prepare the file correctly so it is not sent back, track it through each authority, and deliver the attested document to your door.
How fast attestation in Dubai actually is
There are two routes and you do not pick between them. MOFA assigns the route from the issuing authority and the document type, so the first thing worth knowing about your own paperwork is which one it falls into.
Digital Attestation is the fast one. It applies only to eligible documents issued in the UAE that carry a digital verification feature such as a QR code, a barcode or a reference number, and it completes within two hours during official working hours. Up to five documents can go on one online application. This is the only route on which same-day is genuinely realistic, and it involves no courier at all.
Everything else goes through the courier route, and there the turnaround is set by the delivery pack rather than by ministry processing. A normal pack runs three working days and takes up to twenty-five documents; an express pack runs one working day and takes up to ten. These are courier delivery choices offered at application, not ministry processing tiers — worth understanding, because an express pack does not make the ministry work faster, it changes how the documents move.
An official government fee applies to MOFA attestation and varies with the document, the route and whether the paperwork is personal or commercial. We quote the government fee and our own service charge separately so you can see which is which.
Apostille and the UAE — what an apostille does and does not do
The Apostille Convention had 130 Contracting Parties on the Hague Conference status table last updated 30 June 2026. Not all of those are in force: 128 are currently in force, with Viet Nam entering into force on 11 September 2026 and Thailand on 28 February 2027. Contracting parties and countries where an apostille already works are therefore not the same list.
The UAE is not a party. An apostille on its own does not discharge legalisation for a document that will be used in the UAE, which is why the consular chain still applies.
The nuance most guides miss is the other direction. Where the issuing country's own competent authority issues an apostille as its authentication instrument — the United Kingdom's FCDO issues nothing else — that apostille is the required first step, not a wrong turn. The UAE mission legalisation and the MOFA attestation then stack on top of it. So "you cannot use an apostille for the UAE" is the wrong summary; "an apostille alone is not enough for the UAE" is the right one.
The chain for a document issued outside the UAE
Three stages, in order. The competent authority in the country that issued the document authenticates it. The UAE mission accredited to that country then legalises it. MOFA attests it in the UAE.
The mission is determined by where the document was issued, not by where you live — a common and expensive mistake. On some corridors a single application now produces both the mission attestation and the MOFA attestation together, though the physical original is still required either way.
Two practical limits worth knowing before you send anything. Laminated documents cannot be attested. And MOFA accepts the original in Arabic or English; if it is in neither, it needs a legally certified translation. Legal translation in the UAE is governed by Federal Decree-Law No. 22 of 2022, which superseded Law No. 6 of 2012 — the Ministry of Justice registers and accredits legal translators, while the professional licence itself is issued by the competent local licensing authority.
It is also worth being clear about what attestation is. It certifies the authenticity of the signatures and seals on a document. It does not certify the content, and it is not academic recognition — those are separate processes with separate authorities.
Educational documents — the split that catches people out
Where the school sits changes the entire route, and this is the single most common thing people get wrong. A Grade 12 certificate from a foreign-curriculum school inside the UAE is attested by the emirate's own education regulator. There is no MOFA step and no embassy step. Families routinely start an international chain they never needed.
A certificate issued abroad is the opposite case: it runs the full chain, and school-level equivalency normally wants three years of certificates rather than the final one alone.
Higher education is a different process again. A degree awarded outside the UAE goes to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Qualifications Recognition, and attestation is not a prerequisite for that recognition report. Attestation and recognition are frequently confused; they answer to different ministries and serve different purposes.
Indian documents
Indian documents follow a different instrument from the one most people expect. India issues Normal Attestation for UAE-bound paperwork rather than an apostille, because the UAE appears on the Ministry of External Affairs' own published list of countries outside the Apostille Convention. Anyone who has been told to get an Indian apostille for the UAE has been misrouted.
Before the Ministry of External Affairs will attest, the document has to be pre-authenticated by the concerned State Government authorities. Which office that is depends on the state and on the type of document, so it is worth confirming the correct one for your state before anything is posted.
The ministry also does not accept documents directly from individuals, which is the step most people are surprised by.
Company and commercial documents
Commercial invoices and certificates of origin sit outside ordinary attestation. MOFA routes them through its eDAS 2.0 channel, which covers invoices and certificates of origin issued in the UAE or abroad.
Other company paperwork — trade licences, articles of association, board resolutions, certificates of incorporation — follows the standard attestation route instead.
Which certifications a commercial document needs before it reaches MOFA depends on the document type and on the authority that will receive it, so we confirm the exact route for your destination before starting rather than adding a step you may not need.
Healthcare qualifications need two different things
For a professional licence, the UAE health regulators verify credentials by primary source verification — confirmation obtained directly from the institution that issued them. An attested degree does not by itself satisfy the licence, which is why attestation alone leaves applications stuck.
Attested certificates are separately required for the employment and residency procedures that run alongside the licence. Two authorities, two purposes — and most relocating healthcare professionals need both, started in parallel rather than one after the other.
Doorstep collection across Dubai — and where you still have to take part
We collect from your home or office across the 64 Dubai communities we serve and deliver the finished document back. Pickup and delivery within Dubai are included, and same-day or next-day collection is usually available depending on your location and the time you contact us.
The honest limit is that a few steps still need you personally. Remote notarisation is possible in Dubai, but it requires a valid Emirates ID and a Digital Identity — if you hold only a passport you attend in person, and even on the remote route you personally take the video call and enter the one-time code. No service can do that part for you, and any provider claiming otherwise is worth a second look.
Government processing follows the UAE federal government working week — Monday to Thursday plus a half day on Friday. Emirates, free zones and private entities set their own hours, so a document crossing several of them can sit idle over a weekend that is not the same weekend everywhere.
Our attestation services in Dubai
Our attestation services cover the full spectrum of document legalization needs:
MOFA Attestation — Online processing through mofa.gov.ae, with an official fee that varies by document and route. We prepare and route your documents, track them through the ministry's process, and handle doorstep collection and return — MOFA performs the attestation itself.
Embassy Attestation — Full coordination with 30+ embassies and consulates including India, Philippines, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Egypt, and all major nationalities represented in Dubai.
Apostille Services — For documents moving between Apostille Convention countries. The UAE is not a party, so a document bound for the UAE still needs the full attestation chain ending with MOFA. We coordinate apostille issuance with the relevant foreign authority.
Legal Translation — Translation by a translator registered and accredited with the Ministry of Justice, required for documents that are not in Arabic or English.
Notarization & Certified True Copy — Dubai Courts notarization and the Dubai private notary channel.
University Qualifications Recognition & Equivalency — Recognition of university qualifications awarded outside the UAE by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Ministry of Education equivalency for school-level certificates. Required for certain professions and for some Golden Visa routes.
